Synology Assistant can’t find DiskStation on Windows 7

Hello,

I just got my new Synology DiskStation 1511+ and was trying to install the DSM on it.

The DSM has to be installed through Synology Assistant. When trying I had a big problem finding the DiskStation through Synology Assistant on my Windows 7 machine.

I therefore tried doing the same from a Virtual PC running Windows XP. Guess what? It worked!

So the solution is: Install DSM through Synology Assistant on a Windows XP machine
